HOW IT ALL BEGAN
The Journey of Ken and Dripping Auto Pros
Back in 1968, a young 15-year-old named Kenny was working at a car wash in Richmond, Virginia. He found immense joy in cleaning cars and watching the owners drive away, their faces lit up with satisfaction.
The manager of the car wash was LeRoy, a man built like George Foreman. LeRoy wasn’t called a “detailer” back then; he was known for “Simonizing” cars with an orbital buffer, making them gleam and shine. Kenny was mesmerized by this process, knowing instantly that he wanted to master this skill.
One day, LeRoy finished working on a brand-new 1969 Lincoln Continental. The car sparkled so brilliantly that it seemed to require sunglasses to look at. Kenny was captivated. From that day forward, he dedicated himself to detailing his cars, trucks, and motorcycles as a hobby.
After retiring from the corporate world, Ken found himself restless. He decided to pursue his passion and started a mobile detailing service. However, the Central Texas heat made working outside unbearable. So, on August 1, 2021, he opened Dripping Auto Pros, a 3500 sf auto detailing shop. And the rest, as they say, is history.
